Education At THE LCA

The LCA offers a variety of ways to assist our member businesses and their staff achieve their professional development goals.

Apprenticeship

Apprenticing in a trade is a great way to acquire professional experience.  At the LCA we can provide you with information on various trade apprentice opportunities and put you in contact with companies and agencies that can help you start your career journey. 

Education

Formal education is a great way to learn construction skills along with others in a classroom or field setting by qualified and caring instructors who are committed to training and raising up the skilled construction workers and leaders of tomorrow. 

Scholarships

If you are an apprentice working for an LCA member company you may be eligible for a cash scholarship to assist you in your apprenticeship. Application forms are available from the LCA office every fall with scholarships awarded the following spring.

Safety

The LCA believes in safety on the worksite and have partnered with the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) to bring safety training courses to Lethbridge, as well as provide on-line safety courses, safety posters and literature, and a video safety library. Many courses can be used in qualifying for various industry tickets and safety officer designations.
